Also known as Ezetimibe, Zetia is used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood.

Be sure to tell your doctor of any allergies you have whether it is to medication or food, preservatives, or dyes. Tell your doctor immediately if you are, or become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, as it is unknown how Zetia may affect your baby. Also, tell your doctor of any other medications you are taking, including vitamins and supplements, and any medical conditions you may have.

It is very important that you take this medicine exactly as your doctor tells you to. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember, but never take more than one dose per day.

Contact your doctor right away if you notice any of the following: abdominal fullness; black tarry stools; bleeding gums; bloating; blood in urine or stools; chills; constipation; darkened urine; fast heartbeat; fever; gaseous abdominal pain; general tiredness and weakness; indigestion; large, hive-like swelling on face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, sex organs; light-colored stools; loss of appetite; muscle cramps and spasms; muscular tenderness, wasting or weakness; nausea; pains in stomach, side or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back; pinpoint red spots on skin; recurrent fever; severe nausea; skin rash; unusual bleeding or bruising; upper right abdominal pain; vomiting; yellow eyes or skin.

ZETIA (ezetimibe) is in a class of lipid-lowering compounds that selectively inhibits the intestinal absorption of cholesterol and related phytosterols. The chemical name of ezetimibe is 1-(4-fluorophenyl)-3(R)-[3-(4-fluorophenyl)-3 (S)-hydroxypropyl]-4(S)-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-azetidinone. The empirical formula is C24H21F2NO3. Its molecular weight is 409.4. Ezetimibe is a white, crystalline powder that is freely to very soluble in ethanol, methanol, and acetone and practically insoluble in water. Ezetimibe has a melting point of about 163C and is stable at ambient temperature. ZETIA is available as a tablet for oral administration containing 10 mg of ezetimibe and the following inactive ingredients: croscarmellose sodium NF, lactose monohydrate NF, magnesium stearate NF, microcrystalline cellulose NF, povidone USP, and sodium lauryl sulfate NF.

the diaherra from this pill is gross-but I hope it works. Stopped taking the pill because of toilets werent closs by but now I will try again.

zetia made me really tired and weak, I'd get up and in an hour I could go back to bed, also I was nauseated all the time. Only took it for about a week.
