Vasotec, also called Enalapril or Enalaprilat, is one of a group of drugs called ACE inhibitors, and are called high blood pressure medicines. They are used to treat high blood pressure.
The exact way that these medicines work is not known, but they block an enzyme in the body that is necessary to cause blood vessels to tighten. This lowers blood pressure and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart.
