Premarin contains Conjugated Estrogens, or female hormones. Premarin helps relieve signs of menopause, such as hot flashes and unusual sweating, chills, faintness, or dizziness; to help prevent osteoporosis in women past menopause; in the treatment of some breast cancer in men and women; and in the treatment of prostate cancer in men.

Be sure to tell your doctor of any allergies you have whether it is to medication or food, preservatives, or dyes. Tell your doctor immediately if you are, or become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Also, tell your doctor of any other medications you are taking, including vitamins and supplements, and any medical conditions you may have.

It is very important that you take this medicine exactly as your doctor tells you to. Do not take more or less medicine than directed, and don’t stop taking Premarin without discussing it with your doctor first.

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do NOT double doses.

Women rarely have severe side effects from taking estrogens to replace estrogen.

I've tried patches, creams and pills treating menopause since my total hysterectomy in 1999 and the best is Premarin 0.625 which I've been taking for quite a few years and won't stop until its time to do so.
