     .: Prescription

Adipex is one of a class of drugs known as Sympathomimetic Appetite Suppressants. Also called Phentermine, it is used in the short-term treatment of obesity. The appetite-reducing effect of Adipex tends to decrease after a few weeks, and these medicines are useful only during the first few weeks of a weight-loss program.

Be sure to tell your doctor of any allergies you have whether it is to medication or food, preservatives, or dyes. Tell your doctor immediately if you are, or become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Also, tell your doctor of any other medications you are taking, including vitamins and supplements, and any medical conditions you may have.

It is very important that you take this medicine exactly as your doctor tells you to. Do not take more medicine than directed.

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do NOT double doses. Take the last dose 4 to 6 hours before bedtime to avoid sleep problems.

Be aware that taking a Sympathomimetic Appetite Suppressant may cause a positive result in urine screening tests for amphetamines.

Bontril may cause dryness of the mouth, a false sense of well-being, dizziness, or may cause you to be drowsy, or less alert than normal. Check with your doctor immediately if you notice a decrease in your ability to exercise, if you faint, or if you have chest pain, swelling of your feet or lower legs, or trouble in breathing. These may be symptoms of very serious problems.

Also call your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur: increased blood pressure; difficult or painful urination; fast or irregular heartbeat; feeling that others can hear your thoughts; feeling that others are watching you or controlling your behavior; hallucinations; mental depression; numbness, especially on one side of the face or body; skin rash or hives; or talking, feeling, and acting with excitement and activity you cannot control.

I have taken adipex in the past and it has worked tremindously. The only problem that I have with the product is that it makes me irritable and moody. I recommend this product highly.
