Aceon (sometimes known as Perindopril) is one of a class of drug known as Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors, or ACE Inhibitors. These are drugs used to control blood pressure in patients. It can also be used to reduce the chance of certain heart attacks. Your doctor may also use this drug to treat other conditions.
No one knows exactly how these medicines work, but it is known that they block an enzyme your body needs to tighten blood vessels. This increases the blood flow and oxygen to your heart, and lowers blood pressure.
There are certain things you need to tell your doctor about before you start this medicine. Alert him to any allergies you may have. It is critical that you tell your doctor immediately if you are currently or become pregnant, as Aceon can be very dangerous to your unborn child.
Avoid the following if you are taking Aceon: Alcohol, Diuretics, Supplements or medicine that contains Potassium, Salt Substitutes, or Low Salt Milk. All of these can interact with your medication and cause problems. Also, tell your doctor of any other medications or medical conditions that you have.
Try to take the medication at the same time each day. Follow dosing instructions exactly. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible, unless it is close to the time for your next dose. DO NOT double doses. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor.
Notify your doctor if you have persistent dizziness or light-headedness, severe or continuing nausea and vomiting or diarrhea, heavy sweating, or strong stomach pain. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop welts or swelling around your face, throat, or tongue; develop confusion; irregular heartbeat; numbness or tingling in extremities; difficulty breathing; or heaviness in your legs.

Perindopril erbumine is chemically described as (2S,3aS,7aS) -1 -[(S) -N -[(S)-1-Carboxy-butyl] alanyl] hexahydro-2-indolinecarboxylic acid, 1-ethyl ester, compound with tert-butylamine (1:1). Its molecular formula is C19H32N2O5C4H11N.
